Description

War is Peace is a black unisex pullover hoodie with a small 1984 Dystopian Dreams chest mark and a striking back graphic. Blue line-drawn firearms face a red skull woven with roses around the phrase WAR IS PEACE. Beauty and violence are made to share the same poster.

Artwork and meaning

The back image is split between weapons on one side and a floral skull on the other. Bright blue and red make each half feel almost decorative until the slogan forces them together. “War is Peace” is one of the Party's contradictions in Nineteen Eighty-Four; its purpose is to make people accept opposing claims as official truth. Here, the roses refuse to erase the skull, and the phrase refuses to become harmless just because it is familiar.

Artwork details

Front: Small centered 1984 / Dystopian Dreams / By Punkrabbits mark in blue, white and red.
Back: Large blue firearms, red skull and roses with WAR IS PEACE lettering.
Color: Black.

The Dystopian Dreams series

Dystopian Dreams studies how polished slogans can rename harm. This hoodie gives that rhetorical trick a sharp visual collision of color and subject. Dystopian Dreams is interested in the moment an official phrase becomes easier to repeat than to question. This hoodie pushes a familiar slogan against a graphic that refuses its reassurance. The blue weapons and red skull remain distinct even as the words insist they belong together. It asks the viewer to trust the visible cost over the polished claim.

Who this hoodie is for

For fans of Orwell, antiwar imagery and streetwear with a graphic back that asks for more than a quick glance.

Hoodie, fit and sizing

Unisex pullover hoodie with drawstring hood, kangaroo pocket and ribbed cuffs and hem. Offered in black from S through 5XL. Compare the size chart with a garment you own; choose a larger size if you want extra layering room.

How to wear it

The small front mark works beneath an open coat. With the coat off, the back print becomes the center of the look.

Print and care

Direct-to-garment print. Wash inside out in cold water with similar colors; tumble dry low or hang dry. Avoid ironing directly over the artwork and follow the garment care label.

A pretty slogan cannot hide the cost.
