The One Eyed King — Hoodie

The One Eyed King — Hoodie

The One Eyed King brings a single immense eye floating over a procession of smaller figures in a red-and-black field to a Punkrabbits pullover hoodie. The main image occupies the back, where its symbolic scene can unfold across a larger field.

Artwork and meaning

The eye dominates; the marchers below have almost no room to be individuals. The familiar proverb becomes a picture of power built on collective blindness. The flat red field makes the crowd feel boxed in beneath the gaze.

The eye sees everything from above, yet its vision tells us nothing about wisdom. Scale and sight are not the same as truth.

• Visual language: original Punkrabbits dark symbolic artwork for the Poetic Nihilism series

The Poetic Nihilism series

Poetic Nihilism is Punkrabbits’ visual language for finding a kind of freedom after easy answers fail. In The One Eyed King, watchfulness, manufactured certainty and authority over the sightless becomes an image you can carry through ordinary life. The larger back field makes The One Eyed King part of the wearer’s silhouette as well as a scene to inspect up close.

Who this hoodie is for

For political-art collectors, surveillance skeptics and anyone who questions who gets to lead. It also makes a thoughtful gift for someone who would rather wear a question than a slogan with a ready-made answer.

Hoodie, fit and sizing

Unisex pullover hoodie with a drawcord hood, pouch pocket and ribbed cuffs and hem. Compare the size chart with a hoodie you already like; choose your usual size for its intended fit or size up for more room to layer. Listed colors: Black. The product options show the available sizes.

How to wear it

Let the back print show over dark trousers; add a plain tee underneath for a simple layered look. The dark base lets the artwork’s gold, white or red details hold the focus.

Print and care

Original Punkrabbits artwork printed on the garment. Wash inside out in cold water with similar colors, then tumble dry low or hang dry. Avoid ironing directly over the print. Follow the care label for any garment-specific instructions.
