Short Circuit Syd - Hoodie

Short Circuit Syd is a black unisex graphic hoodie from Punkrabbits’ Defective Toys series in the Winter 26 collection, with a compact front print and a large illustrated back print.

Artwork and meaning

The robot has the rounded head, spring limbs and broad boots of a vintage mechanical plaything, but its wiring has escaped the casing. One hand lifts a loose cable into a red burst; the other throws a blue spark. Uneven eyes, a zigzag mouth and the chest meter marked X-ROGUE give the character a wonderfully unstable expression. Cream and red script balances the teal body, while the oval platform makes the whole scene resemble a toy-display demonstration going wrong. You could read this electrical chaos as a refusal to follow factory programming: a supposedly obedient object has become unpredictable. The front and back lettering spell the character’s name Short Circuit Syd.

Artwork details

• Front: stacked cream and red Short Circuit Syd script centered on the chest.
• Back: a teal retro toy robot with spring limbs, loose sparking cables, a chest meter and cream-and-red Short Circuit Syd lettering.
• Visual language: cream, teal and red on black; connected script, bold cartoon contours, lightning shapes and a small rabbit emblem.

The Winter 26 collection

Defective Toys turns familiar playthings into unsettling personalities, mixing vintage toy charm with dark humor and corrupted innocence. Here, the fault is active rather than hidden: loose wires and a rogue meter become the robot’s defining features. Within Winter 26’s conversation between art, philosophy and radical self-expression, the design leaves space for a useful question: who decides when an object—or a person—is functioning correctly? The character’s unexpected energy gives that question a mischievous visual form.

Who this hoodie is for

For retro-robot collectors, underground-comic readers and alternative dressers drawn to expressive lettering and mechanical misfits. The compact front title offers a clear graphic accent; the back carries the character’s full, sparking performance.

Hoodie, fit and sizing

Black Gildan 18500 Heavy Blend pullover hoodie, made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester fleece in a classic unisex fit. Features a drawstring hood, kangaroo pocket, and ribbed cuffs and hem. Available in S–5XL. Compare the size guide with a hoodie you already wear, allowing extra room if you prefer layering.

How to wear it

Try charcoal utility trousers and simple black trainers to echo the robot’s practical shapes. A single teal accessory can pick up its body color. Keep the hoodie uncovered when you want the complete back illustration to read; under an open overshirt, the chest script still holds its own.

Print and care

Printed on both front and back. Follow the garment’s care label. For printed-garment care, turn it inside out and use a gentle, cool wash. Avoid bleach and ironing directly on the artwork. Air drying is a gentle option; follow the label if using a dryer.

A loose wire with a mind of its own.
