Degenerate — Hoodie

Degenerate — Hoodie

Degenerate carries a long-haired screaming figure beneath a gold spiked halo on a black Punkrabbits hoodie. The large back image gives the story room to unfold; a smaller front mark signals it before the wearer turns.

Artwork and meaning

On the hoodie, Degenerate reads as a back-borne declaration. The portrait’s open mouth and grasping hands push against the neat order of the radiant crown. It is a piece for a person who has heard a label meant to diminish them and would rather make it visible than submit to it.

The figure is still shouting after it has passed the viewer.

Artwork details

• Back: large screaming figure beneath gold spiked halo on hoodie back
• Front: small Degenerate sunburst mark
• Visual language: The large ivory portrait sits under gold spikes and dangling chains. A compact coordinating halo and title mark appear on the chest.

The Artifacts of the Spirits series

Artifacts of the Spirits imagines objects and figures recovered from a lost inner mythology. In Degenerate, the relic becomes turning an imposed name into a public challenge. The series borrows the gravity of ritual and the rough authority of carved posters to ask what we choose to revere, carry or leave behind. These are invented images, open to the wearer’s own reading.
